There’s always so much going on – around us in the external world as well as within our minds. Everything seems to be chaotic and life so unpredictable. So, in this paradox Daaji is addressing the question of how to remain still amidst the noise of the world.
He says it may seem challenging, but it’s definitely possible.
Stillness is crucial for developing the ability to observe, focus and effectively perceive and understand what we encounter.

As mentioned above, there are two types of noise :
- One in the External world due to circumstances and things that happen to us and people surrounding us.
- Another is caused by the undisciplined streams of thought that hinder mental clarity and become an emotional burden
To overcome this, it is essential to experience a period of stillness. And how does one do that ? Daaji says –
Simply sit and do nothing !!
But many people find this difficult because the as soon as they sit with their eyes closed, they may experience a whirlwind of thoughts. But over a period of time, with consistent efforts, this is doable.
Focusing inwards helps our mind understand its own processes and how it creates thoughts. Heartfulness practices of Relaxation & Mediation provide physical energy, rejuvenate the mind and make us feel calm & happy. Daaji says – The practice of pausing for introspection, visualization & contemplation helps us deal with our stress by allowing us to temporarily park our worries.
This brings in a certain level of settledness. However, being settled does not imply inactivity. A settled and steady mind exudes 360-degree awareness and alertness. Daaji concludes the description of this paradox by comparing life to a symphony of discordant notes. And if listen to our hearts, we can detect the quiet melody of stillness within. So, this stillness is not absence of noise, but it’s the ability to transcend noise.
